Jennifer Hudson consistently made a point to call or text her mother at her home in Chicago on a daily basis. Hudson would call her mother between 9 and 11a.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. The problem occurred when she did not hear back from her mother by late morning on Oct. 24th. She knew at that point something was wrong.

It was only a few hours later that the bodies of her mother, brother and soon after her nephew were found in the family home and in a stolen car on the west side of Chicago.

Singer Jennifer Hudson May Testify at Family Murder Trial In April

The Chicago Tribune reported that though prosecutors can’t disclose whether Jennifer Hudson will testify at her family’s murder trial, it is clear she is on the witness list for the upcoming trial.

Report further states:

Balfour was the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia. Hudson’s mother and brother were found dead in the family’s home on Chicago’s South Side in 2008. Her nephew’s body was found days later in a vehicle on the city’s West Side.
A court filing by prosecutors last week contains detectives’ reports from interviews with Hudson after the deaths. According to the filing, Hudson told investigators she’d known Balfour since childhood and had advised her sister against marrying him.

Lawyers for the man accused of killing Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson’s family members want to speak with the star before the trial begins in April.

William Balfour, 30, allegedly killed Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew in October of 2008, and defense attorneys want to ask her about a text she may have exchanged with her mother just before the murders, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Murder Trial For Jennifer Hudson’s Family Set for April

The man once considered Jennifer Hudson’s brother-in-law has been ordered by a judge to stand trial in April for charges of killing her mother Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King in 2008.

The thirty year old accused William Balfour’s attorney has stated she is not prepared to go to trial. Unfortunately for her, she is being ignored by the Cook County Judge William Charles Burns who is ready and has now set a date.

Burns expects the trial to last three to four weeks.

Jennifer Hudson has shown the world she can successfully move forward from the horrible deaths of her mother, brother and nephew back in October 2008. Now that she has achieved more than before her family was slayed,  she may have to relive the accounts about the murders in court.

According to court documents, Jennifer Hudson may be called as a witness in the upcoming trial, states this report.
