Oscar Grant Killer Johannes Mehserle Faces Civil Suit For Police Brutality

Jury selection began Monday in a federal civil rights case brought by a man who said he was roughed up by former BART police officer Johannes Mehserle in 2009. The incident allegedly took place just seven weeks before Mehserle would go on to shoot Oscar Grant.

Mehserle, 29, served just under one year of a two-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting of Grant, who was unarmed and killed on New Year’s Day. The “San Francisco Chronicle” reports Mehserle plans to attend the trial and testify that he acted to protect a fellow officer.

NYPD Says Labor Day Shooting in Brooklyn Was Caught on Tape [VIDEO]

A video has been released by the NYPD of the shooting in Brooklyn on Labor Day in which Denise Gay was killed by a stray bullet. The video shows Leroy Webster shooting and killing Eusi Johnson before trying to go back into the building he came from.

Police can be seen shooting and wounding Webster and Webster shooting back at police after being shot. Forensics show that Gay was killed by a Glock manufactured gun that police use and not a by the 9mm gun that Webster was using.

Bay Area Man Oscar Grant Slain by BART Police, Now His Friend Shot to Death

This is not good news. The unarmed young man Oscar Grant that was shot by BART police in 2009 made headlines and a huge uproar in Oakland California when the cop only spent 1 year in prison for murder. Now, Grant’s fried, Johntue Caldwell who saw him killed has been murdered in a Hayward gas station parking lot. Caldwell, 25, suffering from gunshot wounds in a car sitting in the parking lot of a gas station at West Tennyson Road and Calaroga Avenue at around 5:30 p.m.
