Bishop Eddie Long has sent a letter to DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James requesting he dismiss burglary charges against a former security guard charged in a 2010 theft at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande have agreed to a sit-down interview with Channel 2 investigative reporter Jodie Fleischer inside a Miami hotel late last week. On Sunday, Fourth of July weekend, Bishop Long had another service that was unlike his usual routine. After all of the news about the four men who accused Bishop Long of sexual misconduct, we assume nothing will ever be the same at New Birth M.B.C in Atlanta.

This Sunday service was packed into one as New Birth will only have one service on Sundays throughout the summer. The guest speaker and minister was Apostle Raul Avila of Christ for All  Nations Center from Venezuela.

Bishop Long’s accuser Jamal Mohammad Michael Parris was stopped by Florida Highway Patrol officer on Tuesday night for no tags on his brand new 2011 BMW.  Sgt. Seth Dubinsky stopped the car. When he approached it, he smelled marijuana.

While Dubinsky found 181 grams of marijuana, 50 clear plastic baggies, a Taurus semiautomatic handgun and $1,250 in cash, he knew this was a drug deal in the making. He stated what he found was “indicative of a drug dealer.”

Jamal Parris was very pivotal in the involvement of the sexual misconduct case against Bishop Eddie Long. His interview with Fox 5 News Atlanta’s I-Team was very believable as many felt.

Well, the young man is in some real trouble of his own which has nothing to do with Bishop Eddie Long. According to Fox 5 News, about one month after the settlements of Bishop Long were paid to the young men, accuser Jamal Parris was stopped by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and was arrested and charged with felony count of marijuana distribution and use of firearm during commission of a felony. The arrest took place in Miami Beach, where the I-Team is told Jamal Parris has been living for the past three weeks.

Though Bishop Long was able to avoid going to trial in the sexual misconduct case with four young men who accused him of sexual coercion, he may be called to the stand as a witness in the burglary trial.

Anthony Boyd, who formerly worked at Bishop Long’s New Birth Church as a security guard, is accused of breaking into Long’s office on June 12, 2010 and stealing $100,000 worth of jewelry and electronics, including an iPad and iPhone. On Tuesday, he appeared with his lawyer David Fife in court to enter a not guilty plea to the burglary charges, reports Christian Post.

The young man whose the only one left being accused of breaking into Bishop Eddie Long’s New Birth Church office last June, appeared in court Tuesday. He not only appeared in court but when he arrived, he did so in a Cadillac Escalade chauffeured limousine.

The accused Anthony Boyd was all smiles coming out of his fancy car. We are not sure why he showed up to court to make a showcase appearance for the cameras but he did not seem very worried this time about the case.
