Popular Pastor Rick Warren said any organization that sees evangelism as a priority should not take government money.

The pastor of Saddleback Community Church in California told Washington reporters he’s refused millions the Obama and Bush administrations offered in support of his ministry’s global relief efforts, reports CBN.

His reason come from this stance:

  • he won’t let aid restrictions stop him from telling people about Jesus Christ
  • many foreign countries now reject U.S. aid that’s conditional on their acceptance of abortion rights
  • or gay rights.

Pastor Rick Warren of the Saddleback Church Loses Longtime Worship Leader Rick Muchow

Read report below from CP:
Worship Pastor Rick Muchow’s departure comes at a time when Saddleback is transitioning to a less centralized form of leadership and making room for the next generation of leaders, Warren explained. Although having no plans to retire from worship music ministry work, Muchow is leaving after declining a more administrative-type lead position under the church’s newly formed worship team structure.
While addressing his congregation during a tribute to Muchow before services, Warren said it took nearly three years to find and recruit a person having the professional flexibility needed to “keep up” with him. Muchow was able to “go with the flow” on countless occasions when changes to the worship plans were made shortly before and even during church services and functions, he said.
“Personally, this is the most bittersweet moment I’ve had in 32 years as your pastor,” wrote Warren in an email to his congregation sent before the weekend tribute to Muchow. “I know it is the right thing to do, but it is at great personal grief to me.
“Rick Muchow is simply one of my closest and deepest friends. No one else has experienced with me as many Saddleback service high points. We have watched God do miracles before our eyes and the team of ‘Rick and Rick’ has been inseparable for 24 years. So understand me, this organizational change is not what’s most comfortable for either Rick Muchow or me personally… but it is what our church needs next.”

Lakewood Church Sued By Secular Band, The American Dollar

Well, it looks like this couple is reaping what they sowed.  Do you recall the incident on the plane when Gloria Osteen allegedly physically attacked a flight attendant.  The attendant claimed Gloria shoved and shouted at her.  They even went to trial and the Osteen’s won and were very happy they did not have to pay the flight attendant the money she previously requested for the alleged assault.   Now, there church is in trouble and they are being sued again for using a secular song past its’ expiration date.  One question, what was Lakewood doing making a deal with this secular group in the first place, being born again Christians they are supposed to deal with people who know Christ and only Christian music should be heard during church services and on their broadcasts.   So, the $3 million dollars that is being requested by the secular group, The American Dollar should not be a problem for their church to pay, for the couple not only offended the flight attendant, but they both have violated the Kingdom of God.

Grapevine Members Say Pastor Ed Young Lost His Spiritual Connection Because of Extreme Wealth

We thank one of our readers for sending us this information regarding one of the most popular pastors of Grapevine, Texas.  Their concern was if it was really true Pastor Ed Young has been focused on his followers having more sex in their marriages than salvation while enjoying an extremely luxurious lifestyle and then, it has been a few more months after that message, we began receiving more information from former members of Ed Young’s ministry.  So, we looked into reviewing this information, which really hit the news last year; however, we thought it was important to bring this popular pastor of one of the most growing mega churches back into the news.  There are former anonymous members who left Ed Young’s ministry, Fellowship Church and are very anxious to see what we have to say, regarding not only his extreme wealth, but his message for married couples.   Because it is important to his former members, it is not only important to us, but also God has much to say, regarding the lavish lifestyle of this long-time contemporary pastor, which is one of many among today’s mega churches who has become a millionaire.
