Fr. Vatterott arrested on child porn charges

A federal grand jury indicted a St. Louis priest named Fr. William Vatterott on child pornography charges Wednesday afternoon, U.S. Attorney Richard Callahan said.

Fr. William Vatterott was found to be in possession of the illicit materials between June 2010 and June 2011, according to court documents.

There were two teens who reported to the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 2011 that Fr. Vatterott engaged in “inappropriate electronic communications with them”. One teenager, who was 18-years-old at the time, also reported underage drinking and other undisclosed inappropriate behaviors. Neither teenager reported physical contact or solicitation of any kind.

A prominent Satmar Hasidic counselor was sentenced to 103 years in prison last Tuesday for his repeated sexual abuse of a teen victim, who was left weeping over the loss of her childhood.

“I remember how I would look in the mirror,” the victim recounted as her tormentor sat with his eyes closed. “I saw a girl who didn’t want to live in her own skin. A girl whose innocence was shattered at age 12.

Priest Neil Doherty To Plead Guilty In Several Sex Charges

Reports say:

One of South Florida’s most notorious priests — accused by multiple men of molesting them as youth — is expected to accept plead guilty to criminal charges Monday morning in Broward Circuit Court.

The Rev. Neil Doherty is scheduled to appear before Circuit Judge Kenneth Gillespie, where he will accept a plea deal, according to his lawyer, David Bogenschutz.

The details of the plea deal were not released Sunday.

A Rhode Island Roman Catholic priest Rev. Barry Meehan has resigned from his parish at St. Timothy’s Church in Warwick and has been placed on administrative leave. It’s all because of a “credible” allegation of sexual misconduct from more than 25 years ago, the Diocese of Providence said Sunday.

Auxiliary Bishop Robert Evans broke the news to St. Timothy parishioners during Masses Saturday and Sunday.

Former LA priest Carlos Rene Rodriguez was arrested on charges of lewd acts on a child under 14. This just happens to be Rodriguez’ second arrest. In 2004, the former priest  was convicted of child sex abuse. News reports say LA church officials have known Rodriguez is a predator since 1987 yet they have fought since 2007 to keep his personnel files secret.  According to reports, the files are finally scheduled to be released later this month.

A Miami priest Father Rolando Garcia has been named in multiple sexual abuse lawsuits. Consequently, Garcia has resigned soon after fresh allegations were filed in court.

Father Rolando Garcia was formerly the priest of the St. Agatha Catholic Church in west Miami-Dade and submitted a formal letter of resignation to Archdiocese of Miami effective November 21st.

Alleged Pedophile Priest Arrested Once Again

Report says:

Police have once again arrested a former Windsor priest already facing 22 previous sex crime charges.

Chatham-Kent police said the new charges against Linus Bastien, 86, who was a priest in Windsor and the surrounding region from 1951-97, are also for “historical sexually based offences.”

Police said the sex crimes occurred between 1963-70 while Bastien was the priest at St. Charles Parish in the village of Stephenson, in the former Township of Tilbury East.

Clergy sex abuse victims are blasting Kansas City’s controversial Bishop Robert Finn for “staying silent” about the recent death of an alleged predator priest who has been sued several times for molesting kids.

Leaders of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, says Finn should have “honored his pledge to be ‘open’ about clergy sex crimes” by notifying the public and his parishioners about Fr. John R. Tulipana, who apparently died last week.

Bonneville Pastor Confesses To Embezzlement of $400K from Church

Report from WGAL:

A suspended priest was formally charged on Thursday with taking thousands of dollars from his Adams County church.

The Rev. Caesar Belchez, the former pastor at St. Joseph the Worker parish in Bonneville, is accused of embezzling nearly $400,000 dollars over five years.

Court documents show the priest has confessed.

Belchez, who has most recently worked as a pastor in Dallastown, could face up to 21 years in prison.
