Obama Hosted White House LGBT Gay Pride Reception Speaks Clearly of His Views

Obama Speaks at White House LGBT event
Here are some of his remarks at his WHITE HOUSE reception for LGBT pride month:
“…Now, I’ve said before that I would never counsel patience; that it wasn’t right to tell you to be patient any more than it was right for others to tell women to be patient a century ago, or African Americans to be patient a half century ago.  After decades of inaction and indifference, you have every reason and right to push, loudly and forcefully, for equality.”

President Obama Disapproves NC Ban On Homosexual Marriage

President Barack Obama’s campaign says he’s “disappointed” with North Carolina’s constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

Obama campaign spokesman Cameron French said in a Tuesday statement that the ban on same-sex unions is “divisive and discriminatory.” French says same-sex couples deserve the same rights and legal protections as straight couples.
Obama officials have been embroiled in a national discussion of same-sex marriage since Vice President Joe Biden said Sunday that he is “absolutely comfortable” with gay marriage. Obama himself hasn’t embraced legalizing gay marriage, saying his views on the subject are “evolving.”
North Carolinians overwhelming voted Tuesday to amend their state constitution, strengthening a state law that already outlawed same-sex unions.

Military Says Will Not Recognize Same Sex Marriage or Offer Benefits to Couples

Military Says Will Not Recognize Same Sex Marriage or Offer Benefits to Couples

In the eyes of the military, homosexual marriage will not be recognized and couples will still be denied most of the benefits the Defense Department gives to heterosexual couples to ease the costs of medical care, travel, housing and other living expenses, says the report from Huffington Post.

The Pentagon says the 1996 federal Defense of Marriage Act – which defines marriage for federal program purposes as a legal union between a man and woman – prohibits the Defense Department from extending those benefits to gay couples, even if they are married legally in certain states.
That means housing allowances and off-base living space for gay service members with partners could be decided as if they were living alone. Base transfers would not take into account their spouses. If two gay service members are married to each other they may be transferred to two different states or regions of the world. For heterosexual couples, the military tries to avoid that from happening.
