Pastor Marvin Winans Testified At Preliminary Trial, Suspects Ordered to Stand Trial

Detroit Press reports:

Three men will stand trial in the carjacking of prominent Detroit pastor and gospel music icon Marvin Winans.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office says Montoya Givens and Christopher Moorehead, both 20, and 18-year-old Brian Young were bound over Tuesday to Wayne County Circuit Court on carjacking, conspiracy to carjack, unarmed robbery and conspiracy to commit unarmed robbery charges.
Each was ordered held on a $200,000 bond pending June 19 arraignments.
Winans is pastor of Perfecting Church on Detroit’s east side. He delivered singer Whitney Houston’s eulogy in February.
He was attacked May 16 while pumping gas. The robbers took his SUV, Rolex watch and cash.

Pastor Marvin Winans Had Arrest Warrant Issued on Him When Carjacked

This is just a shame! A prominent pastor and longtime gospel singer like Marvin Winans allegedly has not been taking care of his business. According to the Detroit News, the good pastor was a wanted man. Marvin Winans actually had an active warrant out for his arrest when he was carjacked.

While many Detroit news stations were being prideful and boastful when they covered the news on this well known singer and pastor, they now have to report that their ‘man’ wasn’t so upstanding.

Update: Pastor Winans License Suspended When Carjacked

There is always a reason why certain things happen the way they do and in this case, Pastor Marvin Winans driving without a license does not surprise us.   Now, he stood in front of the cameras explaining his story as though he was a clean victim, but Pastor Marvin Winans was allegedly caught doing something a man of God should not have been caught doing, driving on a suspended license, according to a recent report.

Pastor Winans Speaks About Carjacking: Can We Get The Black Church To Be Concern Before It Happens To Their Pastors

Before one of Detroit’s prominent pastors and gospel artists became a victim was there ever a press conference about carjacking?  Did we ever hear of Pastor Marvin Winans or any of his celebrity siblings such as Bebe and CeCe Winans speaking out about not just carjacking, but holding press conferences about overall crime in the city of Detroit? 
Not just the Winans family, but we never heard any of the Clark Sisters publicly speaking out about crime that has happen to many of the impoverished citizens of Detroit.   For example, we did a previous post about gospel artists and black churches in Detroit reaching out and witnessing to women whom are alleged prostitutes to stop the previous back-page murders.  Absolutely not, we never heard of any of these prominent pastors…Read more articles, here.

Pastor and Gospel Singer Marvin Winans Carjacked and Robbed in Detroit

We are praying for Pastor Marvin Winans.

Detroit pastor and gospel singer Marvin Winans, who delivered the eulogy at pop star Whitney Houston’s funeral this year, was robbed and carjacked at a gas station in his home city Wednesday afternoon, CNN affiliates WXYZ and WDIV report.

Winans, pastor at Perfecting Church on Detroit’s east side, had just walked out of the Detroit station’s convenience store and was about to pump gas into his SUV when four men exited the store and attacked him, he told WXYZ.
