Former Pastor of Crystal Cathedral Robert Schuller Sues Says the Church Owes Him Millions

There’s a trial going on between the church Rev. Schuller once led, Crystal Cathedral and himself over property and money. The church claims the Schuller family paid themselves too richly. This should not be a shock since most megchurches always pay themselves very well. Besides, its usually their only income and many of them want to live like celebrities.

The 86 year old former pastor of Crystal Cathedral was present in a Los Angeles Bankruptcy Court this week hoping he will get a few million from the ministry.

Was Pastor Joel Peebles of Jericho City Locked Out of His Own Church?

We wonder if the late pastor of the church, Betty Peebles knew what drama would follow after she left much control of the church int he hands of a small group of board members? Even after the judge ordered the pastor no financial control over the church, the board members have allegedly took it upon themselves to lock the pastor out of the church?

Interesting. Read report below:

Pastor of Jericho City of Praise Was Court Ordered NO financial Control of Ministry

A multimillion-dollar ministry, Jericho City of Praise is legally controlled by a board of directors, not the son of the ministry’s co-founder, a Prince George’s County Circuit Court judge ruled last Monday.

Report from Washington Post:

Judge Dwight Jackson’s ruling was a blow to the Rev. Joel R. Peebles, pastor of Jericho City of Praise in Landover, who had argued that Betty Peebles, who died last fall, meant for him to control not only the spiritual direction of the ministry but its financial direction as well. In his ruling, Jackson said that Joel Peebles had no legal authority over the ministry because he was never elected to the governing board.
