Disco Singer Loleatta Holloway Dies at Age 64
Disco singer Loleatta Holloway has reportedly died of a brief illness on Monday evening at the age of 64. Holloway was known for her disco hits “Hit and Run” and “Love Sensation”.
Her manager Ron Richardson has confirmed her death and made announcements to the media.
Loleatta Holloway was born in Chicago in November 1946. She began singing with her mother in the Holloway Community Singers and recorded with gospel singers Albertina Walker in the Caravans. As her singing career started in gospel music, she sang side by side with gospel group The Caravans with well know members gospel singers Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker and Dorothy Norwood.
