Jennifer Hudson and Sister Leave Courtroom Before Crime Scene Photos Were Shown
On day two of the Jennifer Hudson family murder trial, it was reported that Jennifer Hudson and her sister Julia left the courtroom before the grisly murder photos of her mother, brother and nephew were shown to the jury.
The prosecutors shifted their focus to the crime scene today:
“…prosecutors projected dozens of photographs of her mother sprawled on a living room floor in a blood-soaked, white nightgown and her brother shot through the head on his bed…”

Jennifer Hudson on the stand:
On the first day of the trial for William Balfour, Jennifer Hudson was brought to tears when she testified on the stand on Monday. Balfour is accused of murdering her mother, brother and nephew in 2008.
Hudson cried when prosecutors asked her to recollect the last time she saw her family which she stated was just days before the tragedies occurred.
She testified that when she heard of the news, she flew out to Chicago to identify the bodies of her three family members.
Jennifer Hudson Family Murder Trial Begins and Sister Finally Divorces William Balfour
The latest news about the Jennifer Hudson Family murder trial has begun on Monday. The prosecutor is expected to inform jurors of the opening statements to be made at the trial of William Balfour. Balfour is charged with three counts of 1st degree murder which occurred on Oct. 24, 2008.
News reports stated on the day of the murder: The estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Balfour believed the balloons he saw at the Hudson home came from Julia Hudson’s new boyfriend; driving away for her job as a school bus driver, she glimpsed Balfour in her mirror still lingering outside, prosecutors have said.

Jennifer Hudson has arrived at a Chicago courthouse today for the start of the trial of a man accused of killing her mother, brother and nephew.

Jennifer Hudson consistently made a point to call or text her mother at her home in Chicago on a daily basis. Hudson would call her mother between 9 and 11a.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. The problem occurred when she did not hear back from her mother by late morning on Oct. 24th. She knew at that point something was wrong.
It was only a few hours later that the bodies of her mother, brother and soon after her nephew were found in the family home and in a stolen car on the west side of Chicago.
Singer Jennifer Hudson May Testify at Family Murder Trial In April
The Chicago Tribune reported that though prosecutors can’t disclose whether Jennifer Hudson will testify at her family’s murder trial, it is clear she is on the witness list for the upcoming trial.
Report further states:
Balfour was the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia. Hudson’s mother and brother were found dead in the family’s home on Chicago’s South Side in 2008. Her nephew’s body was found days later in a vehicle on the city’s West Side.A court filing by prosecutors last week contains detectives’ reports from interviews with Hudson after the deaths. According to the filing, Hudson told investigators she’d known Balfour since childhood and had advised her sister against marrying him.
