How Gay Gospel Artists Left a Tainted Legacy- From Holy to Not At All [Part Three]

This is Part 3 which we will explore a gay gospel artist and minister and his part in starting a gay revolution in the black church by pure disobedience.

This is presumably the last part of our series: How Gay Gospel Artists Left a Tainted Legacy For Today’s Generation. We do not plan to add to this series as we feel this may complete the subject… for now. We will discuss a very important issue about how gay gospel artists emerged. We will specifically focus on one corner of the country that made a huge impact on gospel music and the gay culture in the church.

Edwin Hawkins Advertises His Family’s Cafe On Myspace

Now, this is the type of thing we know God is expecting among gospel artists.   He wants them to be business minded, not just always wanting to put on a show as though that’s all they can do, if that much.  God wants gospel artists to stop seeking fame and fortune off of His music, although He knows you have got to live.   Therefore, if you desire to make a living as a gospel artists seek no more to fortune by selling your music, because you should be doing it for God only.   The Hawkins Family is showing their many talents and this one just may make them all a fortune, so they can go down in history as not just a family of gospel artists, but also entrepreneurs.   Let us pray that many more gospel artists follow in the footsteps of The Hawkins Family.  Surprisingly, they opened this cafe back in 2010, after the home-going of Bishop Walter L. Hawkins, founder and pastor of the Love Center Church.

Edwin Hawkins Upcoming Summit: Is God Pleased with Two Alleged Love Fellowship Gay Ministers?

Although, it somewhat hurts to bring this matter before the saints of God, we must do it, because the gospel music industry has not always pleased God.   Why did we decide to bring up this matter?   Simply, because Edwin Hawkins did not support his nephew Jamie Hawkins, the son of his brother (the late Bishop Walter Hawkins)  to pastor the Love Center Church as a righteous ministry, he proceeds to continue his Music and Arts Love Fellowship Conference as though nothing happened.  Get this, the same two board of trustee members who allegedly admitted to being homosexuals when questioned by Jamie Hawkins is also listed on Edwin Hawkins Conference website as fellowship pastors.  We do not recall them being listed before Jamie left Love Center Church.

The late Bishop Walter Hawkins may have been known for teaching a false gospel of his gay affirming philosophy in the pulpit at the Love Center Church; however, he had a gift and was a very anointed gospel artist.   You may say how can he had been anointed if he taught it was okay to be a homosexual?   Bishop Walter Hawkins was wavering in his preaching.   There were times he would try to make it right with God and preach against homosexuality.  His church members would leave and even walked out during a revival in San Jose, California, allegedly.

BET Awards 2011 Give Tribute to Bishop Walter Hawkins’ Song ‘Thank You’

BET Awards 2011 Give Tribute to Bishop Walter Hawkins’ Song ‘Thank You’

This year BET gave tribute to pastor of Oakland, California, Bishop Walter Hawkins. Many gospel artists like Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary and Detrick Haddon, did so in song by singing Hawkins’ famed song “Thank You”.

If you know anything about California bred gospel singers Walter Hawkins and his family including Tramaine Hawkins, you’d know they came from traditional church backgrounds but experimented with modern and trendy sounds with gospel music. Well, though it was the talk in the church back in the day, it was still clearly anointed gospel music.

The Brother Of The Late Bishop Walter Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins Twisted Stance on Theology

Sources reveal the late Bishop Walter Hawkins brother, Edwin Hawkins took sides with Love Center’s board of directors opposing his own nephew, Jamie Hawkins, voting him out as being inexperienced to continue as pastor of the church.   It is so sad, Edwin has stooped so low to claim he loves his nephew, but-calls him inexperienced rather than to agree to oppose homosexuality in his late brother’s ministry.   Edwin Hawkins went against his own nephew, calling him inexperienced in ministry, suggesting he should go to theology school.   Edwin has a confused stance on theology and was in error for his suggestion.   It seems to us that Edwin has too much time on his hands, directing the media and making headlines that he attended a meeting in order to save members from leaving the church, instead of agreeing to deliver their souls from sin .   What every one needs to know is this fact, Edwin does not have the right to excuse anyone and suggest theology school, because a pastor or even a bishop maybe just as inexperienced after they have achieved their Doctorate in Divinity, because they disregard God’s rules for mankind.   There are possibly thousands of theologians and ministers who have learned from them who are not educated enough to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, because they will not take a stand against sin and in this case, the board who may have had some sort of theology training believes it is okay to be a homosexual, since they hired back a gay minister Jamie had previously terminated off the board of directors at the Love Center Church.

Jamie’s Great Grandfather, The Late Bishop E. E. Cleveland Ordained Bishop Walter Hawkins

In our last article, we informed you that Jamie Hawkins has it in his blood to be righteous, simply because he is the great grandson of the late Bishop E. E. Cleveland, his mother, Tramaine’s grandfather.   Bishop E. E. Cleveland, pastor of Ephesians COGIC was a dynamic anointed man of God who preached holiness and did not back down for anybody, so this is why Jamie Hawkins will not bow down to the Board of Trustees who are trying to carry on the gay affirming ministry of the Love Center Church.   You maybe wondering why if the late Bishop E. E. Cleveland ordained the late Bishop Walter Hawkins, why did he carry on a gay affirming church?   The answer is very simple, once you get caught up in homosexuality, especially in a ministry, sometimes it is difficult to turn it around without the flock, threatening to leave, which was the attitude when his son confronted the board of trustees who had members who admitted to being homosexuals.

Walter Jamie Hawkins Leaves Love Center Church For Righteousness, Amen!!

It was so wonderful to read the news on Obnoxioustv‘s Blog that the son of the late Bishop Walter L. Hawkins did not want to be in his father’s position and continue the Love Center Church as a gay affirming ministry.  Thank God!! Let us say it again, thank God, there is someone in this day and age who is young and standing against homosexuality.   Yes, we will still stand by our prior article that indicated that Jamie was not called to lead the Love Center Church, which has been known for the place to go for black gays and lesbians of the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area for many years.   However, Jamie Hawkins is indeed called to lead a righteous flock, a church he is planning to start, away from friction and those on the board of directors, including his uncle, Edwin Hawkins who allegedly opposes his leadership.

Reformed Gay Pastor Donnie McClurkin Honored Gay Bishop Walter Hawkins

Pastor Donnie McClurkin claims to be a changed man, but how changed is he to honor Bishop Walter Hawkins?  Just because he was in the same music industry, did he have to make a point to honor a man who taught is okay to be gay? The reason why certain people like lesbian pastor, Bishop Yvette Flunder has not taken Pastor McClurkin serious, is probably because he mutually honored Bishop Walter Hawkins, not just a celebration of his life among other gospel artists, but on Trinity Broadcasting Network.  Pastor Donnie McClurkin had an interview with Bishop Walter Hawkins entire family to honor him and his ministry.  It is not possible to preach it is wrong to be gay and then, give honor to a man that was not only the head of a gay affirming ministry, but performed same-sex marriages.
