Bishop Charles Blake Serves Another Four Years as Head of Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.)

The Church of God in Christ (COGIC) has recently re-elected Presiding Bishop Charles Blake to serve a second term, which means he will be the head of the largest Pentecostal denomination another four years.

COGIC re-elected Blake on Nov. 15th at the 105th Holy Convocation in St. Louis.
According to the 2012 Yearbook of Canadian and American Churches, the Memphis, Tenn.-based church claims 6.5 million members and is the fifth-largest Christian denomination in the U.S.
Bishop Charles Blake gave is humble response to the four year extended term as head of COGIC:
“I am humbled and delighted to be chosen to continue to lead one of the greatest churches in the world,” Blake said in a statement. “The Church of God in Christ is a beacon of hope and love.”
What we pray for is that all of these presiding bishops over church denominations will handle their business accordingly to God’s will not the status quo and to just run business as usual. God needs some true and willing vessels to move in his kingdom righteously.

We will never believe that a conviction of a church official knowingly allowing abuse to go on has finally occurred. We pray this is the beginning of many, many convictions because they need to be held accountable.

Is God Pleased with The Gospel Superfest Being At Temple of Deliverance COGIC: What Happened To Making An Impact By Pastor Corby Bush When He Was Preaching There?

We do not think God approves of the Gospel SuperFest being in the sanctuary of Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ.   Pastor Corby Bush, Sr. preached at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ when the late Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson was living and we yet believe on making an impact, which means not to allow the world to come into the body of Christ to change it.   Therefore, all of these gospel artists mingling with secular entertainers, whether they be actors, singers or comedians is not right in the eyes of God, not unless they completely follow Jesus Christ and completely step away from the world.   It is time to wake up, after losing Whitney Houston.   We believe Whitney Houston knew Jesus Christ, but we feel she yet would have been here, if all the gospel artists she was friends with would have been more of an true example of complete holiness and righteous saints.   Gospel artists should have no more fellowship with those in the world, unless they have completely captivated them from entertaining for the world.   The Word of God, the Holy Bible says this, ‘Love not the world neither the things that are in the world, he that loveth the world the love of the Father is not in him (I John 2:15).   Therefore, we can love people in the world, but not associate with them, because they have not completely separated from the world.

The Church of God in Christ has a history of preaching against sin and enforcing values of true holiness and righteous, but when they allow such events where the late Presiding Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson once stood and even previous bishops before him, we cannot understand it and by allowing the upcoming Gospel SuperFest to be held there is very hypocritical in our opinion.   We do not disagree just because we feel gospel artists should have no dealings with secular entertainers, but also because these days, some gospel artists seemed to live and perform very similar to secular artists…Read full article, here.

Can Homosexuals Get Saved In COGIC, While They Endorsed Same Sex Marriage Declaration?

If you are a true child of God who knows the history of the oldest and largest African American denomination, ask yourself this question, ‘how can gays and lesbians think anything is wrong with homosexuality, if the leader of COGIC supports the Same Sex Marriage Declaration?’   If you have a child who has been struggling with homosexuality and you are still a part of the Church of God in Christ, you cannot help but wonder if you should still belong to such a denomination who supported President Barack Obama’s bill for gay marriage.
