Serena Williams Winner of 2013 French Open, Named “The Greatest Female Athlete Ever” [Video]
Williams won her first French Open championship since 2002 and it has never stopped ever since. She’s a true beast on the tennis court and she gets better and better!
Here’s her comments after winning the 2013 French Open.
“Eleven years,” Williams said in French during the trophy ceremony. “I think it’s unbelievable. Now I have 16 Grand Slam titles. It’s difficult for me to speak because I’m so excited.”

Newark Mayor Cory Booker Running for the NJ Senate
Newark Mayor Cory Booker announced on Saturday that he is formally in the race to finish the U.S. Senate term of the late Frank Lautenberg.
The Associated Press reported:
The 44-year-old Democrat made his candidacy official at a news conference Saturday in Newark, New Jersey’s largest city. He was joined by former U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley, a former pro basketball player who for 18 years held the seat Booker is seeking.
Bradley, who endorsed Booker, called him “the right person for the right office at the right time.”

AT2W Staff Singer Miguel May Have Caused Stage Jump Victim Brain Damage
UPDATE at bottom of post.
Miguel may have apologized for his unnecessary stage jump where he landed on top of a fan’s head from the audience but he may have to pay very dearly for it.
News reports say that the victim Khyati Shah may have suffered brain damage from the incident per her attorney. TMZ says that producers warned Miguel not to perform the jump ahead of time.
Shah’s lawyer, Vip Bhola, told TMZ, “Some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.”

The NY Post reports the sad news of actress Jean Stapleton’s death:
“All in the Family” star Jean Stapleton, who brilliantly played the long-suffering wife of working-class bigot Archie Bunker in the 1970s hit TV sitcom, died at her Manhattan home, her family announced. She was 90.
She won three Emmys and two Golden Globes for her role as Edith, the devoted wife and perfect foil to Archie, played by the late Carroll O’Connor.
