Crime this year is still on the rise in the black community, senseless conversations among African Americans have not ceased, black men and women are yet divided and yet try to compete with each other, old claims of mixed bloodlines and skin shades are still the first discussions before more important subjects like unity, business, morals and values are even mentioned in a group of black people. Many African Americans resent each other while AIDS is still the highest epidemic within the black community. In the 21st century, as black people continue to die at large from various diseases and tragedies, the causes that our late civil rights leaders (like Dr. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and W. E. B. Dubois) seems to just be a memory while Al Sharpton is yet fighting racial discrimination for the black community, alone. President Barack Obama’s message of “Change” does even seem to be of any importance, because there is yet a lot of old habits that have not been broken. There is still a lack of concern for each other within the black community and being black is still a big denial among black people.

Single black women have always been in the black community and there is nothing strange about it. Whenever you see white women choosing to be single, you do not hear of black women insulting them. So, why do they always talk about other sistahs? Why are some black women trying to destroy Erykah Badu’s character? Why are these envious women saying bad things about Erykah Badu, a superstar who protects black women in her lyrics? Lately, black women have been betraying Erykah Badu, getting all in her personal business. The word is out about Erykah Badu’s personal life, a single mother of 3 children (Seven, Puma and Mars) who has never been married. This queen of Neo-soul is a good example for all black girls and women of all ages, but some black women who do not personally know her say otherwise. Erykah Badu is no different than a lot of black women who have never been married and in this age, a ot of women prefer to be single, because the majority of marriages end up in divorce and children suffer because of it. For those who prefer to be married, for some reason it is a great possibility they have not found the right man they would choose to spend the rest of their life with, because many good men just do not always show up in a good black woman’s life, for some reason. That is life, some things do not happen and when it comes to marriage you cannot make it happen, because you may mess up your life and regret it later; Erykah Badu is too smart for silly mistakes.
