Bishop TD Jakes Preaches at Bishop Long’s 24th Anniversary Celebration

This service was especially for Bishop Eddie Long and his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church as they celebrate Long’s 24 years in ministry. Though two of Long’s accusers, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande spoke out in the news just days ago, Bishop Eddie Long was determined to go forth despite the distractions.

The choir comes forth and sings “Hosanna, We Worship You”. We notice the choir stand was more full than usual as they wore white shirts under black vests that were branded with the New Birth emblem on the left side of their chest.

Bishop Eddie Long Statement

Bishop Long Responds to Accusers While Preparing for 24th Pastoral Anniversary on August 28th

It appears that Bishop Eddie Long may be trying to take the high road in the recent talks from two of his accusers, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande.
Parris and LeGrande say they plan to publish a tell all book detailing all of the secrets the bishop would not want to have known to the public. Though they realize speaking out violates settlement agreements and puts their money at risk, they appear to be confident, for now, that they know what they want to do.
As for Bishop Long, he released a statement in response and wants to move on. He has other things on his mind like celebrating 24 years in the ministry at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. The special church service for his pastoral anniversary will be on August 28th at New Birth Church at 9:30 a.m.
Guest speaker will be his ‘spirtual father’, Bishop TD Jakes.
Stay tuned for updated news on the anniversary service for Bishop Eddie Long that will be posted here.
Below, you can read Bishop Long’s official statement and response to two of his accusers, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande:
New Birth Members, We have a long history of dutifully serving those in need in the local and global communities and we will continue to do so. We are committed to the calling of a strong, viable and relevant ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, we are in the media again and people are wondering what I am going to say. All I have to say is what we stated earlier. All parties involved decided to resolve the civil cases out of court. The decision was made to bring closure to this matter and allow us to move forward with the plans God has for this ministry. I will continue to honor and abide by my commitment of confidentiality and restraint as it relates to the resolution of the civil litigation and will not be diverted from the important work of the ministry. I thank God for your faithful support of my journey to South Africa where thousands where blessed and more than 700 people gave their lives to Christ. We also were able to sow more support into the HIV/AIDS Hospice in Johannesburg that we partnered with last year. We built a wonderful bridge of relationships with pastors and community leaders to further establish the Kingdom and bless others. I love you and thank you for your continued commitment and dedication.
Your Pastor, Bishop Eddie L. Long

On Sunday, Fourth of July weekend, Bishop Long had another service that was unlike his usual routine. After all of the news about the four men who accused Bishop Long of sexual misconduct, we assume nothing will ever be the same at New Birth M.B.C in Atlanta.

This Sunday service was packed into one as New Birth will only have one service on Sundays throughout the summer. The guest speaker and minister was Apostle Raul Avila of Christ for All  Nations Center from Venezuela.

Accuser Jamal Parris’ Arrest Had All the Tell-Tale Signs Of A Drug Dealer

Bishop Long’s accuser Jamal Mohammad Michael Parris was stopped by Florida Highway Patrol officer on Tuesday night for no tags on his brand new 2011 BMW.  Sgt. Seth Dubinsky stopped the car. When he approached it, he smelled marijuana.

While Dubinsky found 181 grams of marijuana, 50 clear plastic baggies, a Taurus semiautomatic handgun and $1,250 in cash, he knew this was a drug deal in the making. He stated what he found was “indicative of a drug dealer.”
