We found a website that featured gospel singer Byron Cage, who is known as the ‘Prince of Praise’, just recorded his 7th album. The recording of his album was not an issue for us but where he chose to record it raised red flags.
The announcement and flyer featured at Gospel Lyfe website, showed Byron Cage to have his live recording at founder Johnnie Coleman’s church, Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. Well if you do not know who Johnnie Coleman is, we will provide an excerpt from our prior article: “Christ Universal Temple Leading Down the Same Path as Bishop Carlton Pearson?”. Also, Gospel of Inclusion’s follower Bishop Carlton Pearson was the former pastor of Christ Universal Temple and somehow their teachings along with his did not mesh- go figure.
Gospel Artist Shei Atkins Turns to R&B Because Church Judges Her Style
New reports state gospel and christian artist Shei Atkins has announced she is leaving gospel music and turning to R&B which will allow her to express what she wants.
In an interview with Christian Post, she stated this about how people were reacting to her music style, appearance and lyrics.
If you are a 70’s child and you were brought up on good gospel music, then you recall Minister Keith Pringle, a legend who was mentored by the late Rev. James Cleveland. He had hits that you knew were anointed and you felt God when you listened to them: ‘Call Him Up’, When God’s Children Get Together’, ‘Perfect Peace’ and ‘No Greater Love’, so many other songs that made you feel God as the choir backed him up.
Interview with Gospel Singer Le’Andria Johnson Speaks to Young Black Women
One of our readers sent us a video of gospel singer and Sunday Best talent winner, Le’Andria Johnson. It’s an interview that reveals some ups and downs in her life as a single mother married twice, barring her children from seeing their father and the foreclosure on her family’s church.
We thought it was an interesting interview that speaks to young, single black women and how they can make some really wrong decisions and later regretting them but finding ways to overcome. So, due to the positivity of the interview and lessons that can be learned, we wanted to share it here.
Fans of Gospel Duo Mary Mary Lash Out on Them For Going to Beyonce’ Concert
We surely are not surprised at this. It was a time when gospel music had substance, meaning and more importantly, the anointing of God. Well, as many may know, Mary Mary is just one group of several new age hip hop and R&B inspired gospel artists of today. Just as people got tired of the old traditional black church from a preaching standpoint, they also were tired of the music that really praised God.
(Note: we are not saying Shirley Caesar is gay, but only revealing Lerone Baker’s alleged confession.) Usually, we do not go by hearsay, but after evaluating Lerone Baker’s claim, our head journalist thought it would be a good idea to feature the nephew of the late gospel legend, Cassietta George’s nephew’s video. Also, we got a request from one of our readers to feature Lerone Baker’s claim, right here on AT2W about 2 weeks ago. We came to an obvious conclusion, this man’s claim, regarding Shirley Caesar and her followers of the Caravans certainly reveals a lot of hurt and a lot of pain.
Former American Idol Contestant Anwar Robinson Nearly Dies in Car Shooting
God surely was with this young man. We pray he recovers well and follows Christ in spirit and in truth as God will protect us from dangers seen and unseen. He has proven this once again and in this case.
On Monday night during a performance as the warm up for Dr. Dorinda Clark -Cole of the Clark Sisters, Anwar Robinson thanked God for helping and shielding his life from certain death.
Bubblegum Gospel Artists Mary Mary Like A Lil’ Wayne Song?
Their tweet was: “I like How to Love by lil Wayne! Don’t judge me:)”
The judges of talent show ‘Sunday Best’ have no shame in their game. They not only co-sign a dirty mouthed, tatted up womanizer but don’t want anyone to ‘judge’ them? This is classic for anyone who basically wants to do what they please but don’t want to hear anyone reprimand them for actions that they know aren’t acceptable.
