Pastor Arthur Allen’s House of Prayer Church is Under Investigation, again
The Rev. Arthur Allen, who died in a house fire Monday, leapt from obscurity to notoriety in 2001 after authorities said he orchestrated abusive punishments for children in his church, the House of Prayer, on Hollywood Road in northwest Atlanta.
Firefighters said there were between 10 and 15 people in the house, located on Lookout Avenue, when fire broke out on Monday. Firefighters said that Allen told those in the house to get out quickly as he remained behind to get dressed.

If you remember the story from last year, Bishop Charles Brown was accused of a sexual crime against a teen girl nearly 25 years ago.
The spiritual head of a local Pentecostal denomination has been arrested and booked with sexual battery on a teenage girl more than 23 years ago. New Orleans court records show that Bishop Charles E. Brown, 58, was released on $25,000 bond yet later raised to $1 million dollar bond.

Chicago Youth Pastor arrested for Sex Assault on Teen While Mother Was in the House
A Chicago leader of a teen girl’s church youth group is accused of sexually assaulting her at her West Humboldt Park home while her nephew played video games and other family members slept.
Michael J. Rivera, 22, of Glendale Heights, forced a 17 year old girl, to perform sexual acts in her bedroom on Oct. 5, prosecutors say. A Cook County Criminal Court ordered him held in lieu of $50,000 bail on a criminal sexual assault charge.
A former employee of the Victory Christian Center megachurch in south Tulsa, Okla., has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for making a lewd proposal to a 14-year-old girl.
Israel Castillo, who worked as a janitor at the church, will also be required to serve more than four years of probation and register as a sex offender, as per the sentencing by Tulsa County District Judge William Kellough on Friday.
