MLK’s Son Dexter King Marries Longtime Girlfriend Leah Weber
UPDATE on July 27, 2013: Somehow we missed this information although AT2W was not blogging back then. In 2008, this news was reported that Martin Luther King III was already married in 2006 but it was done secretly. Here’s the report from 2008 about when they announced it:
The day before celebrities and dignitaries traveled to Atlanta to celebrate the birth of Dr. King, his oldest son Martin Luther King III officially announced his marriage to Arndrea Waters. The couple who are expecting their first child this Spring, announced their 2 year old union at the After Glow reception for the Salute to Greatness Awards Ceremony at the ritzy Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

We are very happy for Dexter King and his new wife. We know that it has taken many years for the King siblings to settle down with a mate. Martin Luther King III has a child now but Bernice King and her late sister Yolanda never married or had children, from what we have researched.
Dexter King, chairman of the King Center has married his longtime girlfriend Leah Weber. They had a private ceremony on last Friday in California.
King’s new wife, originally from New Orleans, is a former broadcast journalist and business owner.
Dexter King’s siblings, Martin Luther King III and Bernice King, could not be reached for comment.
Isaac Farris said King and Weber met several years ago in New Orleans when Weber hosted a book-signing for “Growing Up King: An Intimate Memoir.”
According to a statement, the couple plan to live in Malibu, Calif., where King has lived for a number of years.
