AT2W’s Black History Month Book List and Picks

We want to honor and celebrate Black History Month by taking a look back at some of the great books that were featured in the Ebony magazine in the 1970’s. We researched and flipped through some old 70’s issues of Ebony magazine. We saw some interesting books featured there and remember some of the history about them. We wanted to share those with you and give you an opportunity to own a piece of history was well.

See below some of the popular black history books we found to still be amongst people’s favorites:

  • The Negro Handbook by Ebony Magazine

  • To Be Young, Gifted and Black by Lorraine Hansberry
  • Malcolm X: A Man and His Times by John Henrik Clarke
