RHOA’s Kandi Burruss Goes from Selling Sex Toys to Singing Gospel?

We thought we heard it all but here’s another head turner. The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kandi Burruss is known for her role on the show as well as being a former member of the 1990’s old school R&B girl group Xscape. She’s written many hits for major singers and is known for her producing skills in the music industry.

She’s recently been the talk about her web show along with some friends that speak on the topic of ‘sex and relationships’ called Kandi Koated Nights. This also goes along with sex toys she has sold as well.

Now, the multi-talented Kandi Burruss is doing some new along the song writing arena and will be releasing a gospel song called ‘Stay Prayed Up’. And by the way, pastor and gospel singe Marvin Sapp has stamped his approval of the song by teaming up with her on this project! That’s very interesting, pastor Sapp.

You can get an idea of what she’s trying to tell us from a few of her lyrics from the song:

“I stay prayed up, that gets me by… that’s how I made it through my darkest times…yeah I’m a sinner and that’s no lie…Thank God my prayers are heard cuz he knows I try…. “

She’s sounding much like the hip hop artists that rap about making money, having sex and doing wrong and professing they love Jesus and hoping he condones it. It’s classic self denial.

Here’s what she says about it and how she justifies her right to do what she wants:

On this episode of #RHOA you see part of the gospel song I was working on. I knew when I decided to do it that I would be criticized. That’s to be expected. I’m a single mom that had a child out of wedlock, I speak openly about sex on #KandiKoatedNights, I have #BedroomKandi, etc… I’m very honest about who I am. My great grand father & my grandfather were Bishops in The Church of God Holiness. I believe in God but I have always struggled with the rules of the church just like a lot of people. The song “Stay Prayed Up” is like a testimony for me. Hopefully people with a similar struggle can relate. I’m posting the lyrics to the hook. I’m looking forward to you hearing the whole song next week! Source

We also know that Kandi and singer Fantasia are very good friends and her thoughts on the subject remind us a lot of Fantasia. She too loves to make excuses why she does what she does and claims she’s just as saved as the next professed Christian.

We have to say that many of us are from or grew up in the church and strayed away.  Some stay in the world and never come back and others come back for good and turn from their worldly things. It’s just interesting how so many people think they can live worldly and say they are Christian. What difference are they showing us by being the same as the secular world?
