Why Did Pastors Take Offense To Prophet Brian Carn’s Tweet About Whitney Houston’s Death

Originally posted on March 5, 2012:

Our friends over at Joy105.com posted an exclusive about how a few prominent pastors had a huge issue over a tweet Prophet Brian Carn made about the late singer Whitney Houston. Frankly, we don’t see anything wrong with what was said. We are not sure why there was a ‘hiss’ about his comment but as you read the tweets below provided by Joy105, you will see how these pastors seem to have more than just an issue about the tweet.

See for yourself and read below for our take:

@prophetcarn tweeted:
“Such a disappointment for whitney to die….When the Lord use u to speak it, its still such a shock!!! I’m praying for the family!!!–” prophetcarn

@BishopMckJr tweeted:
“When you know who you are, you don’t have to use the tricks of manipulation trying to become what you already are”–pray for the Houston’s (@darrellpatrick)” Bishop Mckissick

@Edewysmith tweeted:
“Young leaders in the BOC, let’s follow the example of the generals & be careful what we tweet in these times. Don’t misuse ur platform!–” Pastor E. Dewey Smith

@LUCINDAMOORE1 tweeted:
“#DearBrianCarn YOUNGANS I SAID NUTHIN about Brian Carn! If I wanted to, I will say it to him! I dont SUBTWEET!!! *Drops Mic, Hops on scooter* — ” Lucinda Moore

@BishopJFrancis tweeted:
“@prophetcarn I don’t understand why they’re upset with you. You said nothing wrong. People please don’t lose the plot-were all in shock–” Bishop John Francis

@prophetcarn tweeted:
“It is obvious that what i said has been misunderstood, If I have offended anyone I apologize!!! I really dont know what I said!!!–” Prophet Brian Carn

AT2W’s Take: Now, if you read the tweets above, you’d see Brian Carn’s tweet sparked an argument that had nothing to do with Whitney Houston. To us, is appears to be an attack on the 20 something year old preacher Carn. What exactly does Bishop McKissick mean by: “When you know who you are, you don’t have to use the tricks of manipulation trying to become what you already are”? This sounds like some inside issue he has with Prophet Carn. Also, Pastor E. Dewey Smith tweeted: “Young leaders in the BOC, let’s follow the example of the generals & be careful what we tweet in these times. Don’t misuse ur platform!–”. Where in the world did that come from? Sounds almost like a threat. Didn’t Brian Carn speak on Whitney Houston and it being a a shock and disappointment she is no longer here? E. Dewey Smith surely sounds like he needs to deal with some issues away from social media.

This twitter war makes no sense and if these pastors except for Bishop J. Francis , have an issue with Prophet Carn, then they need to deal with it privately. By using twitter and attacking someone as men of God, this is a poor example of how we handle things. Just imagine many people support and fund these pastors and they are acting, in our opinion, like jealous little boys who need to grow up.
