Beyonce’ and JayZ to Host High Priced Fundraiser for Obama Campaign

There will be an upcoming high priced, high profile fundraiser for the Obama campaign and Beyonce’ and her husband rapper Jay-Z will be hosting at New York City’s exclusive 40/40 nightclub.

“Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!” reads the email she sent to her fans recently.

Now the dinner that will help in Obama’s campaign will be very, very expensive. They are asking their fans to come out and support but no one is going to pay thousands of dollars a plate except their elite friends. The fans will only be around the building to make big noise and fill the streets.

The Huffington Post reported:

The president is stopping by for a dinner, where Page Six reports he’ll be joined by 100 friends who will have each paid $40,000 for the honor.

The couple’s friendship with Obama goes all the way back to the president’s inauguration. Jay-Z and Beyonce performed at a tribute concert honoring the newly elected commander-in-chief on the night before Obama took his oath of office.

It all boils down to: ‘you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’ mentality. This is one other way to make sure Jay-Z and Beyonce’s millions of fans get out and vote, for Obama of course. It just might work too.

UPDATE on Sept. 25, 2012: Huffington Post reports: While the first lady and her daughters could not attend the event, about 100 other people joined the hip-hop couple and Obama. Tickets to the exclusive event cost $40,000 a pop, which brought in about $4 million for the president’s re-election campaign.
