Dallas Teacher and Coach Accused of Improper Relationship with Teen Student
A Dallas area teacher and coach has been arrested for having an improper relationship with a student. Eric Howard Gillaspy, 38, was arrested August 10 and charged with one count of Improper Relationship between Educator and Student, a second-degree felony.
According to the City of Richardson police, the department was notified by a third party of the alleged relationship, which is said to be going on while Gillaspy was a geography teacher and an assistant softball coach at Berkner High School.
The affidavit states the informant told police of a sexual relationship between Gillaspy and a female student at Berkner. According to warrant details, the student, during a police interview, initially denied a sexual relationship with Gillaspy. Nonetheless, during a second interview, the student admitted having sex with the teacher/coach at his home sometime between November 2011 and December 2011.
The investigation is ongoing due to more possible alleged victims, says police. Police are asking if anyone with information pertaining to the case, to call the Richardson Police Department at 972-744-4801.
