This is a huge wake up call!! We don’t understand why its so high in Atlanta and it being at the top of the list but this can’t be ignored.
Studies have shown that black women now make up 60 percent of newly reported HIV cases. The CDC has reported that 1 of every 30 black women will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifetime. 11 Alive Atlanta reports.
Here’s some data that was collected in 2009 from the following health departments in Clayton, Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Douglas and Gwinnett counties with infection rates of HIV and AIDS:
Fulton County: 4,213 and 7,342
DeKalb County: 3,257 and 3,983
Clayton County: 847 and 943

These are absolutely alarming numbers and they are being compared to Third World countries too! We have to stop relying on unprotected sex and a smile from a non-deserving man with our bodies. When will we see our bodies as much more precious than that?
