Desmond Hatchett: Father of 21 Children May Only Pay $1.98 a Month Child Support
Desmond Hatchett is a 29 year old African American man who has 20 to 21 children. The last child is questionable but on paper he fathered the first 20 children. My goodness! Can you even imagine fathering 21 children in your lifetime? In earlier eras, building big families was a pride and joy to do with a man and woman who were… married!!

Hatchett has a minimum wage job and obviously can’t afford to support all of the children.  According to the Knox County Juvenile Child Support Court, has set a record in their office files.

He has children ranging in ages from newborn to 11 years old with at least 11 mothers and possibly more.

Constitutionally, there is nothing the state of Tennessee can do to limit him from having more but they can keep him in jail for not paying what he owes in child support. Last week, he appeared in court and his name appeared on the docket 11 times and representing 15 of his 21 children.

The Tampa Bay News reported:

Desmond Hatchett spent part of Friday afternoon jailed while a child support referee decided how to split up the $400 he brought to court.

If he doesn’t pay what he owes, he will go back to jail because he is on an automatic jail order.

The mothers of Hatchett’s children are supposed to get anywhere from $25 to $309 a month, but when his paycheck is garnished amongst them all, some women only get a $1.98 a month.

A $1.98? This may only pay for a candy bar. Geeze.

AT2W’s Take: This story is a prime example of why men and women need to stop fornicating which results it so many unplanned pregnancies. This man is utterly shameful and a disgrace. We are surprised but happy so many women filed a court order for child support because there are so many women who will not. We are praying these mothers have good paying jobs to help care and raise these children. Let’s take a lesson from this story that is probably more common than we realize. Let’s preach to our children not to allow these unprotected sexual relationships which do nothing but bring children in the world who may ultimately suffer. It’s been preached before, but who’s taking it seriously? Times may have moved on but not many things have changed. We have to do better and its up to us, the parents, to preach it constantly!!
