Wrongly Freed Inmate Larry Howard From Wasco State Prison, Officials Warn
Some south Valley prison officials are red in the face after mistakenly releasing an inmate.
Wasco State Prison officials say 21 year old Larry Howard was wrongly set free on Wednesday. He had been serving a two year sentence for first degree burglary and was not up for parole until November.
Corrections officials say they’re treating the accidental release as an escape, and have said anyone who sees Howard should call 911.
UPDATE on 4.22.2012: An inmate accidentally released from a Los Angeles County jail was re-apprehended Thursday night at his wife’s home in Los Angeles.
A corrections department apprehension team took Howard back into custody after surveillance at a home in Los Angeles determined his whereabouts, said Henry Cervantez, a spokesman for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
