What kind of church would agree to comply with the probation requirements of a registered sex offender??? Where were the children, and who explained why they couldn’t attend the service? The Bible is clear that “not many” should be teaching in churches because it requires the way of perfection. I’m so tired of hearing “only God can judge” when it applies to those who preach and teach the Gospel. I believe fully in redemption, but is a mere 2 months really enough time for him to have proven his rehabilitation?

You are so right! Did they hear from God in making this decision? We think not.

I stand by my earlier comments concerning this predator, a 2month ‘stand down’ means nothing, when standards and disciplines are not enforced
you seemly make light of the situation and give the offender license
to ‘relapse’…removing childern from the proximity does not cleanse the heart, remember Jesus said “even to lust in the heart is like commiting adultery” Matt 5:28

This man needs to stand down from the pulpit for a determined amount of time until the trust he destroyed is regained, I wonder did the victims themselves or their families have any say so..?

I think they have it backwards; shouldn’t the ‘wolf’ be removed from the proximity from the ‘sheep’ and not vice-versa?! I personally don’t believe he returned to the pulpit for the gospel’s sake, but for status and monetary gain

I hope I’m wrong, but if he strikes again, “You reap what you sow!”

A friend in Florida sent me this from a local news outlet. Apparently the New Black Panther Party is protesting Gilyard’s presence in the church.
