R&B Diva Patti Labelle In The News For Throwing Water on Tot and Threatening to Fight Mother
Ms. Patti Labelle has found herself in a bad light these days. Five months before, Patti Labelle found herself in trouble with a military cadet whom she allegedly ordered her handlers (security) on this man for standing too close to her luggage at an airport in Houston. This man was thrown to the ground and suffered bodily injuries because of this incident. Now, she’s lashing out on bystanders for no valid reason.
Read report below:
R&B diva Patti LaBelle hurled curses — and half a bottle of water — at a woman and her 18-month-old daughter after a dust-up over parenting in an apartment building lobby, according to a lawsuit filed Monday and the family’s lawyer.
According to the report, Patti Labelle and her attorneys allegedly ignored the lawsuit.
The couple live in a Manhattan building where the Grammy Award-winning singer stayed for a time while appearing in the Broadway musical “Fela!” last year, said the Monks’ lawyer, Samuel L. Davis.
He said LaBelle chastised Roseanna Monk for letting the toddler take some steps away from the mother as she grappled with some luggage and a car seat in the building’s lobby on the afternoon of Nov. 11, 2010.
“What are you doing letting your kid run around like that?” Labelle reportedly griped.
Monk, a kindergarten teacher, picked up the child and told LaBelle to mind her business and then the singer threw water on them from a bottle she was carrying and then literally had an outright fit on these innocent people.
When the tot, Genevieve, started crying, Roseanna Monk made some remark to LaBelle, and “the singer charged at her and tried to hit her”, Davis said.
The Monks filed a complaint with police though no arrests were made. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. The 18-month-old Genevieve Monk has suffered “personality changes, sleep disorder” and “increased fear of strangers,” since the incident her family says in the Manhattan Supreme Court suit. [source]
Attorney for Roseanna Monk said she had asked LaBelle for an apology and a donation to a children’s cancer charity but was rebuffed.
The Monks feel “someone’s got to teach her even a diva can’t attack and frighten and assault regular people in the building,” their lawyer said.
AT2W’s Take: Some of our staff used to respect Patti Labelle for a long time. We assumed she had a lot of class but she has proven that to be a facade. As we have reported earlier this year, she has tainted her ‘classy’ persona for kissing young girls on the lips, supporting gay pride events, defending same sex marriage and now having physical tantrums on unsuspecting people. It appears that she may be reaping something because she has always proclaimed to be a Christian, but many people have found that she is living totally opposite of a child of God. We continue to pray for her that she may be restored.
