Bishop Long Breaks Curses, Proclaims Blessings and Speaks in Tongues During Church Service

We purposely tuned into Bishop Long’s New Birth Church service Sunday later to avoid all of the so called ‘Praise and Worship’ at the beginning because its usually a redundant circus of annoying singing.

When we tuned in, we actually caught some of the singing from the choir but Bishop Long must have ordered (for the day) a series of traditional songs that would fit into this service that had much more to do with ‘making a new’ than communion.

As the choir goes on in a traditional form of praise, the congregation, which has noticeably  grown in size, praises and cries out. In our opinion, New Birth is always willing to embrace the ‘churchy’ style of praise when Bishop Long grants it. It never ceases to amaze us how on average, many churches appreciate the traditional music style and worship over new age styles because it was the original form of ‘having church’. But the church is all too willing to adopt to the current ‘praise and worship’ style which we feel is just another new age way of trying to depict traditional worship in the black church. Also, the church’s hip hop movement is acceptable when they really want a break from traditions. Whatever the case, if its not true worship in a civilized and holy fashion, God looks the other way.

Bishop Eddie Long seems very upbeat today during his Oct. 2nd Communion Sunday Service. Bishop Long walks to the pulpit to inform the church he is not doing church today. He states he is on an assignment. He goes on to state “how to capture the young” which would be before 5 pm if we want new construction. If not, we will have a difficult time and have to perform reconstruction which is much more difficult to do.

The cameras flash on the prepared communion table which shows an unusual image. We see several men dressed in black lined up along the table in a familiar fashion to the Nation of Islam. We have never seen Bishop Long have such a uniformed army of men guarding the table like a cult. Well, enough said on what is already clear.

Bishop Eddie Long declares to the church that they will be breaking curses (generational curses) and proclaiming blessings today. He will act as the father in their life and Elder Cage, gospel singer Byron Cage’s mother, will perform as the church’s mother. Both of them will give apologies to the church as to ‘their own children’ for what they did not do right in raising them up and then proclaiming full blessings over their lives.

Bishop Long states: “You have victory over the opposition…no matter what’s coming against you… nothing, not a thing, can take you down.” This sounded much like a declaration he is making about asking Jamal Parris, Spencer LeGrande and Centino Kemp for $900,00 back for breaching the confidentiality clause in their settlement agreements back in April.

“Just stand. God shall vindicate you,” says Long.

Long continues on while preparing for the taking of the communion with: “Jesus took our sins and gave us his righteousness.” But before stating this, he actually stated: “Jesus sinned”, but stopped himself and turned it into “Jesus took our sins”. We actually caught him and was thinking he was doing something similar to what Dr. Fred Price did when he preached recently that “Jesus committed suicide.” It’s never surprising what you may hear from these contemporary, corporate church leaders. They willingly twist the word of God to start their own doctrine of falsehood.

Then Bishop Long does a Juanita Bynum move (without typing it out) and speaks in tongues!

Now, if anyone knows anything about Bishop Eddie Long, he’s stated he did not believe in tongues. But this has not stopped him from allowing it in his church from elders praying or guest speakers. Back during the time when Bishop Long’s church was on Snapfinger Road in Decatur, Ga., he and Byron Cage had a tiff about whether speaking in tongues was real or necessary. Though, apostolic faith-based Byron Cage stated this on a local Atlanta show, they eventually respected one another on the subject. So it was a surprise to hear Bishop Long speak in some  form of tongues today; which quite frankly sounded pretty unusual and not so genuine.  A few of our staff members are former members of New Birth and they state they have never, ever heard Bishop Long speak in tongues! Again, Bishop Long does what he needs to for the moment to appear upright and holy.

So, as Bishop Long and Elder Cage wrap up their apology speeches and prayers for blessings to overflow the church, Bishop Long declares all of the church to say: “I’m Free” and for the rest of the month they shall be blessed everyday.

Well, Bishop Long was a businessman with a degree to prove it long before he started preaching. So we are sure as he has  built his empire off the backs of his members, he will concoct some financial plan to soothe the money woes the church will suffer from once these recent lawsuits take a toll.
