Update: James Arthur Ray Mistrial Considered by Judge

After hearing from both sides, Judge Warren Darrow today said James Arthur Ray’s due process rights may have been violated by prosecutors when they covered up potential evidence indicating deaths in a Sedona sweat lodge, which could have been caused by the way the sweat lodge was constructed.   They also claimed the prosecutors in the case failed to turn over an email that could help exonerate their client for more than a year.

The email from an environmental expert, Richard Haddow concluded that because of the shoddy way the sweat lodge was built, the victims were more at risk than other participants because they were seated in an area of the tent that was the most-poorly ventilated.

A relative of one of the deceased victims said Ray’s defense attorneys have no other alternative, because they know they are losing the case.
