Bishop Blake’s Alleged Cover Up of COGIC Sex Chronicles Hits a Wall

We were forwarded information about for an open letter from COGIC’s COO Elder James Smith allegedly distributed in regard to the financial woes and troubles of the organization due to Judge Enoch Perry III, COGIC’s Chief Legal Counsel “incompetence” and many other crucial labels Elder Smith has characterized on the Honorable Judge Perry.

When we heard of the news we did some researching for ourselves. Though we are all for exposing churches and their covered sins and indiscretions, God led us to take our time and deal with the issue. We didn’t want to just take it for face value and we are glad we listened to Him first.  After confirming with a great and reliable source, GCM Watch, we learned a twist in the story.

Elder James Smith, according to GCM Watch, had a phone conversation with a blogger Kevin Oliver who wanted to confirm the authenticity of the authorship of the letter. Oliver stated this according to GCM Watch:

“I told him that we received a letter purportedly written by him. I told him it was posted on PimpPreacher.com and asked him if he were aware of it and if he could confirm he is the author”

“He told me point blank, “I don’t do blogosphere. I don’t who you are or where you’re from and I haven’t seen it so I can’t comment on something I haven’t seen.”

“I then told him that “the blogosphere” is not what it once was, and that a lot of people get their news and information from blogs. I then asked him if I could have his email address so I could send him the article, or if he’d like to go to the site. He again stonewalled me, saying that he had “no interest in discovery” and that it would be inappropriate for him to comment.”

So, as you can see, even though we believe Elder Smith possibly wrote the letter but has possibly been sanctioned to ‘keep his mouth closed’ now since word is out about his frustrations in the organization’s legal counsel; he has allegedly denied he has anything to do with the letter and will not confirm one way or the other if he in fact wrote it.

We tell you- the scandal the church will go through and to cover up their precious ‘blood money’ on the backs of the many, many sexual abused victims. If Elder Smith did not write the letter, than who? Who would use his signature letter block and write a nearly 7 page letter against the representation of COGIC’s legal team, alleged cover ups and its dooming financial woes? Mind you-this letter is detailed and gives quite a bit of  ‘inside information’ about the ‘pay offs’ for many lawsuits that came against the organization and of course how they were handled in their legal system. This man allegedly was tired of the bureaucracy and had enough of the cover ups of COGIC’s Sex Chronicles in which the letter suggests that he would resign if need be due to the exposure of his request that Judge Enoch Perry III resigns as legal counsel for COGIC.

Well, as we said before, he, Elder James Smith does not admit or deny if he wrote the letter so we were happy we didn’t just jump on the story when first given to us. With that being said, we do believe someone wanted this to get out and that someone from or claiming to be affiliated with COGIC.  One thing that stuck out when GCM Watch stated he would not admit he wrote it, the website did state they received notice from a COGIC source that Presiding Bishop Charles Blake sent out a warning that all church leaders to stay away from blogs on the internet.

One of our journalist’s here at AT2W stated:

“Can you believe that? Allegedly he wants to continue the cover up and mandate his church leaders to not read blogs. Now really, I must lay into this right about now. Instead of ‘sending word’ that they not read blogs, why couldn’t he ‘sent word’ for all pastors in COGIC to stay away from little boys and little girls? How about telling his beloved money making followers to keep their hands off men and women in the church and preach the word? Why can’t a man over one of the largest black denominations in history, Bishop Blake, mandate pastors to be holy as COGIC was known for in the past. What about those kinds of God abiding laws being passed down to his flock?” If  he has sent word to his flock requesting holiness and the cease of perversion come to an end; someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE send it along to us. We would love to see some effort to repair the now tainted COGIC’s name.

Furthermore, it never surprises us to hear these kind of things and the type of scandal that continues to go on in church today. But what really hurts is the way the all mighty dollar dictates the way the church deals with and responds to allegations against them. Instead of doing the work of God, they’d rather pay off victims and cover up the true problem in the church today- sexual perversion. Sexual perversion has taken over the minds of many church leaders and tainted their entire organization. Its all about money and sex and who can get the most of it and still get paid.

Well, whatever the outcome of this alleged open letter from Elder James Smith, COO of COGIC, its high time someone steps up from within and exposes the truth. If COGIC falters to no return, then God’s will be done.
