The international television ministry, Daystar are denying claims of sexual harassment. This claim comes after two months, after Marcus Lamb had already faced Daystar viewers admitting an extramarital affair that occurred years ago, already settled between he and his wife, Joni. See past story, here.
Now, a second lawsuit has been filed by a former employee, Jennifer Falcon claiming that Joni’s father sexually harassed her. The claim filed in U.S. District Court in Dallas, alleged Lamb’s father, Bill Trammell, created an unpleasant work atmosphere at the Bedford ministry, organized by Marcus and Joni Lamb.
The complaint, reads, “During ‘quiet time,’ Mr. Trammell would make plaintiff hug him tightly for extended periods of time,” the lawsuit said. “He would often put his hands very close to plaintiff’s breasts or buttocks during these extended touchings. On more than two occasions, Mr. Trammell told plaintiff to sit on his lap.”
Sources explain that Bill Trammell is Daystar’s “Administrative Manager of Special Projects” and said he was married to Joni Lamb’s mother, Sandra Trammell who also worked at Daystar.
The victim in this case, Sandra Trammell worked for Daystar for a total for nine years, then she was fired in Feb. 2010, after she received an “outstanding” rating in a job performance review, according the lawsuit.
During the month of Dec. 2009, when Joni and her Mom noticed an indecent relationship between her father and Jennifer Falcon, after he took soup to her home while she was ill, the next day Joni Lamb demoted Jennifer and the following month, cut her pay, even though she had received an “outstanding” rating on her performance review just a few weeks earlier, according to the lawsuit. Then, she fired in Feb. of 2010.
Daystar claims Jennifer Falcon is barred from making claims against the network because she signed “an enforceable termination agreement” in which she “gladly received benefit.” However, Falcon Falcon claims was pressured to sign the document and didn’t understand it, because she was upset.
This suit was filed by the same attorney, James Fisher, who sued Daystar in December on behalf of another former employee, Jeannette Hawkins who admitted she was lured to participate in a cover-up of an affair by Joni Lamb’s husband Marcus, which Marcus admitted on national television was blackmail, in exchange for millions of dollars.
The soap operas among mega ministries seems as though they are not slowing down. What will it take for all of this drama to stop within the body of Christ? A strong desire for the church world to be different than the world and to be more like Jesus Christ, instead of reaching out to the world in exchange for fame and fortune.
This case with Joni Lamb’s father is nothing new, it is just another sign for the church to stop the sexual perversion and get closer to God before it is everlasting too late.
