New Edition and solo R&B singer Johnny Gill hasn’t had much work so it seems. For years now he has been living with Eddie Murphy in Murphy’s house. As many of you may already know, Johnny had been living in Eddie’s house for years while Eddie was married to his first wife and mother of Eddie’s first children, Nicole Murphy from Greenhaven in Sacramento, CA.
Apparently, Nicole complained to Eddie and Johnny that his presence was not welcome but it seemed like Eddie was possibly “keeping” Johnnie–if you know what we mean!
We all know Eddie’s got boo-coo money and Johnny definitely got plenty of it.
Well, we haven’t been able to confirm if Johnny is still living in Eddie’s house but maybe now Johnny can make no more excuses why he can’t get his own place to live. He recently signed a deal with Notifi Records for his new first CD in 16 years. MY Gosh! Its been sixteen years since he’s made an album.
Well, he was involved with about 4 compilations from 1997-2005 here and there. Its about time you make your own money, Johnny and stop letting Eddie Murphy take care of you.
The new album after a 16 years hiatus will tentatively be release in early 2011. He will be joining Giuwine who is recording his 2nd album on the label. Notifi Records Chairwoman Ira Dewitt quotes ”I’m honored and excited about our new association with Johnny Gill. I’ve always been a great admirer of his work going back to his days with Stacy Lattisaw, New Edition and LSG. I’m thrilled to be able to work with him as he continues the journey he started as a solo star 16 years ago. The time is long overdue for the world to reconnect with one of the greatest R&B voices of all times.”
Alrighty then.. Johnny should be well on his way soon enough to take care himself because Eddie is making it known once again that he is moving on with a new girlfriend.
Eddie Murphy has been seen in recent months with a new lady. Her name is May Gilbert, an actress (from Cinemax’s “Zane’s Sex Chronicles”. They were seen together at a Lakers game in LA last March.
Guess we’ll see how this one ends up.
