On Wednesday, a 40-year old female trainer was killed by a killer whale at SeaWorld’s Shamu stadium in Orlando, Florida.   Telly, also known as Tilikum usually does not have a trainer in the tank, because it is extremely large, 12,300-pounds.  The whale is almost 30 years old.

A witness who saw everything, claimed the trainer had just finished telling the audience about the show they were about to witness when the whale struck and started thrashing her around.

This should be no surprise, because this exact whale killed a 20-year old trainer, Keltie Byrene in 1991. the whale, then living at a location in British Columbia, Canada. Tilikum was previously involved in two fatal incidents, not just that one.

Tilikum was moved to Orlando in 1992.  The question is, why did SeaWorld trust everything would be okay with this whale, after it already killed two other trainers?  Why?  The truth is, no whale is beautiful that kills human beings as it the same for humans who kill animals.
