A Toast 2 Wealth

First thing we want to do here is wish every one of our visitors and newcomers a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Decade! The past few years have been a hardship on many but we all can do better now with faith and strength in God.

So, now we have reached not just another new year: 2010 but we have reached a New decade! We literally have 10years to look back on. We can evaluate the past decade and say either: “Hey, I have accomplished more that I could have dreamed of” or “I have done well for myself but things did not go the way I wanted them to” or…”Life was going up hill for a while but I reached so many downfalls”.

Now that you have read those few statements, what category do you fall into? Did the past 10 years show great progress and accomplishment? Did they show some improvements but not hit the mark for you? Or did the past decade show you great disappointments overall?

Well, if you are in the the first category, then I must commend you! You have not let anything in life stop you from reaching your goals and that, my friend is a blessing.

But if you are in category 2 or 3, then there is some work to be done. God has blessed you to still be among the living so life is worth living… and more than that!

T. Marie Phillips, a self made entrepreneur  has this motto for 2010: “WE MUST NOT SETTLE FOR LESS IN 2010 AND THE NEXT 10 YEARS are CRUCIAL to the success for the rest of our lives!!

T. Marie  says: “So, you ask why do I say that? Well, it takes me back to what my father told me once: “Whatever you do, do not get comfortable with your life. When you get comfortable,  you ultimately settle for what life has handed you and you stop dreaming, reaching and progressing”. And you know what folks? He was so right. I’m not just saying this either. My father was an aircraft painter for the Naval government for several years. He made a great income above many in the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s. But what he did was “settle”. He didn’t try to enhance his intellect or skills or try and start a business on the side because he thought his ‘government’ job would provide him with security and a hefty retirement plan. But little did he know that the naval base he worked at in California would close down 10 years before retirement and he found himself jobless. Now, I don’t blame him for all that happened. It was inevitable. Also, it was his mentality and his way of thinking that reached back further than himself. In his day, this is what was taught and years before him: people did find good jobs, live comfortable and retired from a long paying job. Many of us still think this way, but it has faded in the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s. No job is forever and we should never look forward to retirement because it won’t be enough.”

“I shared that story because I saw my father’s dreams just go up in smoke when he lost his job. Even his dreams of being a famous poet seem to fade away as well. I vowed to myself that I would never let this happen to me. Though this all occurred in my family when I was a young adult, it impacted our relationships and livelihood.”

“So, by knowing what he went through, I had to do things differently. You know, the younger generation has to come up bigger and stronger so we can take care of our parents, our parents-parents and our own children’s generations to come. And that is what we all must do.’

“We can not settle for less anymore. We have to start planning again; starting dreaming again; start acting again and start stepping out again.’

“There is no reason why we can’t do better this year and the next 10 years to come. We have to make a change and not just for ourselves: We have generations before and after us that depend on US!!”

‘So if the past year or 10 years, did not place you where you wanted to be, then YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CHANGE!’

Here are my 3 steps to success:

1) MAKE UP IN YOUR MIND TODAY THAT YOU WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO BE SUPER SUCCESSFUL.

2) MAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS AND PREPARATION TO REACH YOUR GOALS.

3) DON’T EVER, EVER, EVER SETTLE FOR LESS.  WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF SETTLING; GET BACK ON THAT HORSE.
