How Can a Mayor Steal From the Poor?

It’s bad enough that this country, let alone city to city do not provide enough resources for the homeless and poor of our country. Why is there headlining news that Mayor Sheila Dixon of Baltimore, Maryland has been convicted of stealing gift cards that were intended to be given to the poor of that city today?

The jury decided that Mayor Dixon inappropriately used $630 worth of gift cards. $630!?? I’m sure her salary could afford that much times ten. What a disgrace for the city of Baltimore and the country. Just think of the recession we are in and the limitedness of resources for the poor- but to have a mayor, of all people, allow this to go on.

Mayor Dixon not only could lose her seat in office due to this misdemeanor, but she could face up to 5 years in jail.
Reports state that her home was raided and authorities later found a collection of electronic game systems and a video camera. So, while Dixon is buying up Best Buy’s goods, the poor get poorer in Baltimore.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen- another low down dirty shame of a political scandal. First we have Kwame Kilpatrick with his sex, lies and text messages and now this!!! Why is there a problem with the leaders of these crime stricken city’s not equipped or capable of performing their political duties under the oaths they took to get into office?

I’m so tired of ‘our leaders’ from the White House to mayor’s house not taking their jobs seriously. We need to rally and get them all out because its really a shame that people are taking advantage of their positions and not committing to the betterment of our society.

I don’t care to mention that she became Baltimore’s first African American mayor in 2007. What does it matter being the first of anything when you have no integrity to your name.

Just another shot down and disgrace for America to swallow.
