It seems like it was just yesterday when John Allen Muhammad was convicted of killing Dean Harold Meyers, one of several victims in a series of sniper-style shootings that terrorized the Washington area in October 2002.  During a three-week period, he and his young sidekick, Lee Boyd Malvo, shot 13 people, murdering 10 of them. Since then, they both have been also accused of shootings in other various states.  It has been said Muhammad was the one who initiated the shooting spree and Malvo was nothing but a follower who did whatever John Muhammad asked him to do.

Attorneys for John Allen Muhammad argued last week that he should receive clemency, because of insanity while serving in the gulf war. Was John Muhammad insane to commit these multiple shootings or did he just want to go down in history of being a strong Muslim who followed his shootings after 9/11? Usually, the average black Muslim is not daring like others from foreign countries, so maybe he was trying to prove how bold and different he was as a black Muslim.  To spare his life based on insanity would make him observe his cruelty toward human life.  To kill John Allen Muhammad would not teach him anything or-maybe it would be a worst lesson just to get prepared to die by lethal injection.

The convicted D.C. Sniper,  John Allen Muhammad will be executed by lethal injection next month.  John Muhammad was offered a choice in method of execution, but he declined an option, so since he refused an option he will get lethal injection.
