Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Wife, Maria Shriver Apologizes for Using Her Cell Phone a Third Time | A Toast 2 Wealth

maria_shriver0903Three times, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s wife, Maria Shriver breaks the California law of using cell phones while driving.  Enforcement of the ban started July 1, 2008; it carries a $20 fine for a first violation; $50 for each following offense. A similar law banning texting while driving took effect January 2009.  The first lady of California was not cited, although 150,000 other people were given tickets, the last September.

Now, does Maria Shriver think she is above the law, because she is married to Arnold Schwarzenegger?  Has she forgotten to show an example for other California citizens who may just start ignoring the law, because she fails to obey the law, which her husband made official. Just maybe, she is purposely doing it, to prove what she can get away with just because of he she is married to?   She calls herself reaching out to battered women by announcing she is donating her old cell phone to Women’s Conference partner Verizon through their HopeLine program that helps domestic violence shelters. She said, “I invite anyone else who wants to recycle their old phone to join me. That’s my version of swift action with a higher purpose.” Well, isn’t that arrogantly nice of her to take swift action to change her ways?

Shriver apologized after Governor Schwarzenegger heard about his wife breaking the law and said,  ”Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There’s going to be swift action.”   A swift action?  Did he say a swift action? Well, if he has that much power in his marriage, why didn’t he take swift action when she used her cell phone the first two times?
