The grand silver balloon’s  two-hour flight was viewed live on television, captivating viewers across the country. The balloon rotated slowly in the wind, tipping precariously at times, during its journey before coming down in a dirt field in neighboring Weld County, roughly 50 miles away from where it took off.  When it finally landed, little Falcon was no where to be found. It is good news for the couple who were once featured on the show, Wife Swap.   They found their 6-year old son, Falcon Heene who went up in an air ballon, which got vanished from their home.  Cops thought Falcon had taken off in family’s experimental craft, but he was hiding in the family’s attic all along, several hours after the runaway flight of his family’s experimental balloon riveted the nation and led to a frantic search for the child, who was feared to have fallen from the craft.  Falcon was playing outside with one of his two older brothers when the older boy thought he had seen the younger one go into a box or basket at the bottom of the balloon, said Cathy Davis of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department.   This is nothing but a miracle, because miracles do not occur all the time, although Sheriff Jim Alderden said kids always play games until they realize it turns serious, they only disappear because they are afraid of getting in trouble with their parents. falcon_heene0980This is one experiment Falcon and his brothers will always remember for many years to come.  Richard and Mayumi Heene are very happy their son has been found alive.  The Heene family always have had fun with experimental crafts, but did not expect this to horrific incident to occur.  The Heene family also appeared twice in the ABC reality show “Wife Swap,” earlier this year. On the show, they were portrayed as alien buffs who are obsessed with science.

Update: The Heene family is being investigated for making a comment that it was publicity stunt for the show.

Update as of 10/19/09: The Heene family are now being prosecuted for setting up a hoax.  Their 6-year old son told police that they were going to get a reality TV show.  The family’s attorney says there is no evidence of them being guilty, just because it has been said there was a hoax.
