Although, AIDS and various Sexually Transmitted Diseases are still on the rise, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are one of the most popular Hollywood married couples that admit to have an open marriage (both in agreement to have sexual relations with other people).  They have been married for about over 10 years, which is more than many celebrities can admit; however, we do not know the damage of their lifestyle in the long run.  Marriage is for 2 people, not for 2 people to make it okay to sleep around with other people and say you have been married to the same person for years.  Their open marriage may seem like it has help them remain married for a number of years, but everything that looks good, does not mean it is good for you.  Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are said to be not only Scientologists, but a part of a society that believe open marriages are alright.  Because of their honest confession, they do not seem to be good mentors for married couples (in the African American community).  People are always complaining and debating about Ellen, Rosie O’Donnell and Elton John’s confession of homosexuality, but no one has really raised a public issue of annoyance regarding the popularity of open marriage in Hollywood.    Originally, Jada has said on several occasions she is okay, if Will admits he wants to have sex with someone else, but said she did not know if Will was okay, if she wanted to do so.  Now, there have been people who have attended discreet parties and have seen the couple getting involved with other people.  This is not only unsafe, but this is unhealthy.

Many people say the rich and famous people have nothing else to do with their time.  They just want to have fun.  Is fun always safe?  The statistics of sexual transmitted diseases should make married people scared to get involved with such sort of discreet affairs.  Regarding the high risk in the African American community, shouldn’t celebrities be a positive example to lower the rate of deaths?  Absolutely, yes indeed and because Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are famous there are many people who admire them, so obviously they are looked at as mentors.  Swinging affairs, open marriages, whatever you want to call it is just as unsafe for other races as it is for black people.  Open marriages is dishonoring the marriage and the spouse are disrespecting their commitment and one yoke  in matrimony.   The sex partners who sleep with married couples are do not have any respect for themselves or for the spouses they sleep with.   People who admit to having an open marriage think they are having so much fun until the silent killer, AIDS comes knocking on their door.  Although, Earvin Magic Johnson did not catch AIDS through an open marriage or swinging, he never thought he would be an AIDS survivor.  Fortunately, he yet lives to forewarn people about AIDS while happily married to Cookie Johnson as they both faithfully attend West Angeles Church of God In Christ.

Earvin and Cookie Johnson are good role models for all married couples.  They have survived a deadly disease that has killed millions of people, all of the world.  By the grace of God, they are yet alive to show you can still be happily married after facing the fear of AIDS.  Unlike, Will and Jada, so far, you do not hear about them happily married for several years and praise having an open marriage, because of it.  They both admit to having troubles like any married couple, but they reveal morals and values, not showing the world that it is so wonderful to sleep with other people while staying married and raising their children.  Earvin “Magic” Johnson remembers the day back in 1991 when he announced to the world, he was going to retire.  Back in the early days, the subject of AIDS had everyone scared when a celebrity died of it.  Famous celebrities like Rock Hudson, Liberace, Eazy E (a well known rapper who died of AIDS, after 2 days of diagnosis) and many others, made people think twice about being careless in a relationship.  These days, the rich, famous and everyday people live their freely live their lives with no precaution.  It has been said that Comedienne Monique has also admitted to having an open marriage to her husband, Sidney Hicks.

What is even worse are Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s open confession while raising their children.  They must be have regards for their children as well as other children across America.  There are younger generations who follow whatever looks exciting, fascinating and trendy.  Many of our youth do whatever their mentors say is okay to do.  This could be the reason why we can no longer discipline our youth and tame their behavior at home or school, simply because they are focused on the immoral lifestyles of celebrities.  Our children are growing up much faster than years ago and much of the blame is how famous people carelessly live their lives and when they make an open announcement to what used to not be okay is okay to do, children listen and will do it.   While experimenting with the trend of an immoral lifestyle and dabbling in promiscuity, children are at a high risk for all sorts of sexual transmitted diseases among other dangers.
