Why is Chris Rock being sued over the movie, “Good Hair?” A starving filmmaker, Regina Kimbell claims Chris Rock saw her script and used it. Doesn’t this remind you of when Tyler Perry was accused of doing the same thing over his movie, “A Diary of a Mad Black Woman?” This won’t be the last we here of similar cases like this one.
Good hair is a documentary that reveals the process African Americans experience while changing their hair, which Regina Kimbell claims is very similar to her own film, “My Nappy Roots: A Journey Through Black Hair-itage.” She said her proof that Chris Rock stole her idea is when she presented her work to the Doug Miller, Executive Producer of “Good Hair.” She claims that Mr. Miller promised to sign a non-disclosure agreement with respect to the film, but refused to do so later. She admits to being shocked when she eventually learned that Chris Rock was coming out with his new movie, “Good Hair.” She saw the similarities between her own film, “My Nappy Roots: A Journey Through Black Hair-itage” and “Good Hair.”
Regina Kimbell is suing Chris Rock and the Executive Producer, Doug Miller of Good Hair for copyright infringement, fraud, including deceit among her complaints. Will she get her $5 million dollars?

I’m sure this lady had a similar idea but did noting about it. Now, she claims she wants to sue of course to receive some sort of payment. There are always people out there not liking what you do I think this lady is ridiculous for sue Chris Rock and if she had the idea she could have done something about it before.
I agree with you. What people don’t realize is if (and I using the word loosely), but if she really did come up with the idea, can she really prove it? Was it truly copyrighted? Or is she really trying to only get money like so many other desperate people out there? What a shame that we must result to such tactics. Well, I guess we will see and we can’t wait to hear the outcome!
